Iceland / Arnarstapi
Along the southern edge of the Snæfellsnes peninsula lies the small village of Arnarstapi. Once a fishing and trading port with legends of half-human ogres, the village is now a tourist stop along the peninsula.
A prominent white house sits with rugged cliffs on one side and a towering conic mountain behind creating a scene worthy of its Instagram created fame.
In 2017 I visited with a few friends as we explored the Snæfellsnes peninsula and enjoyed a crisp sunrise at Arnarstapi........
The white house on the cliffs of Arnarstapi
Morning sun catching the waves at Arnarstapi
A timber house with a might mountain backdrop
Birds swopped all around the village and cliffs
A distant mountain drenched in snow
An isolated watch tower on the coast
Sharing the moment on Instagram live, a novel feature back in 2017
